BOWLES LAKE

We were beyond excited to dive into the Bowles Lake Project and re-imagine this primary suite into a space that our client could love for years to come. While the original suite had plenty of potential, it was held back by a tiny, outdated bathroom—including a cramped 30” x 30” shower that just wasn’t cutting it. Our client dreamed of a space that was equal parts spa-like and functional, where smart storage and modern design could come together seamlessly.

A Spa-Inspired Primary Bath Built for Relaxation

The transformation of this primary bath was nothing short of extraordinary. What was once a cramped, 30” x 30” shower—barely big enough to turn around in—has now become a spacious, spa-inspired retreat designed to soothe and indulge. By expanding into the adjacent bedroom, we had the opportunity to reimagine the space entirely, making room for a steam shower that elevates everyday living.

The new steam shower delivers the ultimate in relaxation, with heated floors that create a warm, inviting atmosphere from the moment you step inside. A teak wooden bench provides the perfect place to unwind, offering a comfortable spot to sit, stretch, and soak in the steam. To ensure that functionality was just as prioritized as comfort, we incorporated a recessed niche—a thoughtful, space-saving detail that keeps shower essentials neatly organized and within easy reach.

But it’s not just about practicality—the shower’s spacious design invites a sense of calm and rejuvenation. Whether it’s a quick rinse after a long day or a leisurely steam session on a weekend morning, this shower was designed to enhance everyday rituals with a touch of luxury.

Storage That Blends Seamlessly into the Design

While the shower may be the star of the show, we knew that smart storage solutions were just as essential to maintaining the serenity of the space. To keep the vanity area clean and clutter-free, we integrated optimized drawer space that offers ample room for toiletries, grooming essentials, and more. And because we believe the best design is the kind that goes unnoticed, we added a hidden in-drawer outlet—allowing hair tools and other devices to stay plugged in and ready without creating visual clutter.

Even the smallest details were designed with functionality in mind. Take the recessed toilet paper holder for example—a clever touch that keeps essentials within reach while maintaining a sleek, streamlined look. And because we love a good surprise, we incorporated a built-in cell phone shelf, proving that even the most practical elements can bring a little bit of joy.

Clean, Modern Aesthetic with Timeless Appeal

Visually, this primary bath embodies a balance of clean lines, warm tones, and subtle textures. We leaned into a neutral palette, where porcelain tiles add depth and contrast, while matte black fixtures create a striking yet understated focal point. The warmth of the wood vanity brings balance to the cool tile and adds a natural element that grounds the space.

The result is a bathroom that feels timeless, refined, and effortlessly modern—a space where our client can step away from the chaos of the day and unwind in comfort.

A Modern Bedroom Retreat Designed for Comfort

When it came to reimagining the primary bedroom at Bowles Lake, we wanted to create more than just a place to sleep—we envisioned a serene, stylish retreat that would invite rest and relaxation while reflecting the client’s modern aesthetic. The original space had potential, but it lacked warmth and cohesion. Our goal was to introduce layered textures, bold accents, and thoughtful lighting to transform the room into a cozy yet sophisticated haven.

At the heart of this transformation is the accent wall, painted in Benjamin Moore’s Dragon’s Breath—a deep, moody hue that adds richness and depth without overwhelming the space. This striking shade creates a perfect contrast against the crisp white bedding, giving the room a grounded, contemporary feel. The dark, dramatic wall also acts as a canvas that highlights the other design elements, allowing the room’s warm wood tones and tactile layers to shine.

Lighting That Sets the Mood

Lighting plays a pivotal role in the overall ambiance of a space, and in this bedroom, we took a layered approach to ensure the perfect balance between form and function. Wall-mounted articulating sconces from Rejuvenation flank the bed, providing soft, focused light for nighttime reading. These sculptural fixtures add a subtle touch of brass warmth while enhancing the room’s overall symmetry.

But the true standout feature? The Buster + Punch brass dimmer switch—a small but impactful detail that allows the homeowners to effortlessly adjust the lighting to suit their mood. Whether it’s creating a cozy glow for winding down at night or brightening the space for a productive morning, this dimmer adds a layer of personalized comfort and control.
